Studio news for April 2019

Studio news for April 2019

I realise that it’s been a long time since I’ve shared some updates about new projects that I’m working on at the moment. There has been a lot happening behind the scenes, and you are probably wondering what’s next… So without further ado, allow me to share some studio news for April 2019 with you!

My biggest news is that there is another book on the way! I’ve been working on the new book – or rather the main character in the book – for a while now. I’ve decided to make a fully articulated meerkat, which I will be able to photograph in a multitude of poses to tell the new story.

At this point, I’ve created a pattern and prototype of the meerkat. I’ve also created illustrations that will be printed on fabric, and from which I will be making the final meerkat. The illustrations have just gone to print, and I am super excited for the printed fabric to arrive so that I can make my new character in 3 dimensions!

I’ve also decided to create a darker version of fairy Daisy for this story, and these illustrations have also gone off to the printers, so fingers crossed that they both turn out as I’ve envisioned them!

I’ve had some fun days as well as work days – James and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary on the 2nd of April with a visit to Kalk Bay, Simonstown and Cape Town.

Below you will find a summary of my April highlights:

In April 2019 I…

  • Spent a day with James celebrating our 8 year wedding anniversary
  • Completed Dark Daisy’s illustrations
  • Prepared the Dark Daisy and Meerkat illustrations for print
  • Cut fabric and sent Dark Daisy and Meerkat files to print
  • Uploaded 4 bedtime stories to Insight Timer

I discovered you via Insight Timer. We live in Hartwell, Georgia. I was looking for something to relax my 3-year old great grand daughter, so she would nap. She was so mesmerized by your Firefly meditation that she looks forward to her “quiet time”
I will definitely be checking out your books and characters for future use. I love your mission statement, its so aligned with my family’s .

      Dear Bonne,

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch! It was such a lovely surprise to receive your message this morning! 🙂

It makes me very happy to hear that your great-granddaughter enjoyed the firefly meditation! It would be such a pleasure to send her a parcel someday!

Coincidentally I had a meeting with DHL this week about using their services to ship International parcels in future, which should make shipping a parcel to you much more affordable than it currently is! I hope to implement these changes within the next month or two, and will make an announcement on my blog as soon as it is ready!

I would like to invite you to sign up for my weekly email newsletter. I send out short updates on Friday mornings, which keep my subscribers updated with our latest adventures. Once you are subscribed, you will be sent a link to the resource library with downloadable activities to enjoy with your great-granddaughter that I have developed with my play therapist friend and colleague. You will find the link to subscriber here: https://fairycaravan.co/subscribe-newsletter

Thank you again for your lovely message. I wish you a magical day!

      With lots of love,
      Liesl
